I recently read Norwegian Wood by Haruki Murakami, and it stayed with me in a quiet, heavy way.
It is not a fast or dramatic book, but it captures loneliness, memory, young love, and grief so strongly. Some parts feel simple on the surface, but afterwards you keep thinking about the characters and the choices they made.
What I found most interesting is how the book shows that people can be close to each other and still not fully reach each other.
Has anyone else read Norwegian Wood? Did it stay with you too, or did you find it too sad?

I haven’t read Murakami before, but this made me curious

A quiet memory you accidentally walked back into.
I had a similar reaction. I really loved Norwegian Wood, but wow, it is bleak. Not the kind of book you just finish and move on from. The music references were probably one of my favourite parts — they gave the whole story such a strong mood.
